Who can apply? | Anyone above the age of 18. For projects costing more than Rs.10 lakh in the manufacturing sector and more than Rs. 5 lakh in the commercial / service sector, at least VIII grade pass is required. Under the PMEGP, only new projects are examined for approval. Self-Help Groups (including those belonging to the BPL if they have not received benefits under any other Scheme), Institutions established under the Societies Registration Act,1860; Production Co-operative Societies, and Charitable Trusts are also eligible. Existing units (under PMRY, REGP, or any other scheme of the Government of India or the State Government) and units that have previously received Government Subsidies under any other plan of the Government of India or the State Government are NOT eligible. |
How to apply? | In consultation with KVIB and the respective state's Director of Industries (for DICs), the State/Divisional Directors of KVIC will issue local advertisements in print and electronic media inviting applications and project proposals from prospective beneficiaries interested in establishing an enterprise or starting a service unit under PMEGP. Beneficiaries can also apply online at https://www.kviconline.gov.in/pmegpeportal/pmegphome/index.jsp. and print the application, then send it to the appropriate offices together with the Detailed Project Report and other relevant papers. |
